It has been an EXTREMELY long time since I've posted out here, but I have still been busy trying new recipes. Pinterest is amazingly addictive! My list of "Recipes to Try" board is way too long compared to my "Favorite Recipes". All in due time, I guess.
One that we tried and got rave reviews from family and VBS kids this summer is these Peanut Butter and Oatmeal Dream Bars. I love peanut butter in almost everything. Burger Jones has a burger with peanut butter that I have not tried, yet, but maybe someday. We made these the first 2 times as written, except we used peanut butter chips instead of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. They did not need to bake as long in my oven so be careful. I usually check things a couple of minutes earlier than suggested and this time it was a good idea. They are wonderful!! My only complaint is that they tend to fall apart when you cut and eat them. Not sure if this is just because I added too many chips or just the way they are.
We made them a third time and I mistakenly used semi-sweet chips instead of milk choc. Usually, I don't care which chips I throw in, but in this case, they did not taste as good. Highly recommend the milk choc chips and peanut butter chips in this case.
